Oops! Again.

A few weeks ago I sent this photo to various 'Identify This' websites and FB groups as they were displaying prominently in three of the flowers beds.  I must have specifically planted a clutch of them and obviously with pride and intent because they were grouped!  However, naturally, as soon as they go in the ground I forget what they are!

Also, permanent marker pens are not permanent.

Nobody - even the professionals - were confident about identification and various suggestions were made - lovage being a popular guess.

Well, as they were spreading like weeds and getting taller then me (!) Paul and I decided to investigate a bit further and yanked one out of the ground.... and discovered that they ae enormously lanky PARSNIPS!!!

It would seem that mid-summer last year I must have put small plants in the ground and they were mistakenly labelled as this particular vegetables. 

Oh dear. Could do better....

I have now removed all of them from the flowers beds....
